Luh Dhe is the only child in her family. Her father passed away when she was only one month old. Her mother re-married and she was left to live with her grandmother. Luh Dhe’s grandmother works as a coffee farmer with a very limited income of only IDR 150.000 (approx. USD 10) per month. When Luh Dhe was in junior high school, her grandmother sent her to an orphanage as she (the grandmother) could not afford it anymore to pay for Luh Dhe’s education. Luh Dhe stayed in the orphanage until she graduated from senior high school last July 2017. Soon after she graduated, she worked in a home industrial business, earning IDR 600.000 (approx. USD 44) per month to help her grandmother. When hearing about Bali WISE, Luh Dhe applied for the program to finally be able to find a quality job and to make her grandmother proud.
