Ani was born and raised in Sibetan village, Karangasem, East Bali, and is the second child of four. Both her parents work as farmers with a limited income of only IDR 700,000 per month (approx. USD 50), which is barely enough to make ends meet. Thus, Ani worked to support her parents and to afford her younger siblings’ education by weaving bamboo. On top, she worked hard as a waitress in a ‘warung’ (small shop/restaurant) near her house during her school holidays. Ani graduated from vocational high school and now joined Bali WISE with high motivation and ambitions to become a skilled and successful woman.
