Ari has graduated from vocational high school and has the dream to work on a cruise ship. Both her parents work as bamboo weavers and sell ceremonial bamboo baskets usually used for Ngaben (Balinese Cremation Ceremony). They sell them for only around IDR 1,200 each and since a cremation is an event not held everyday, this does not provide a regular income. Ari knows, to help her parents, she would need a proper job with a reasonable salary, which she can only find if she will continue with her education. She is very optimistic that the hospitality training at Bali WISE will provide her with the necessary skills and knowledge to fulfill her dream and enable her to gain enough money on a cruise ship to support her family.
