Komang Sri Widiartini

Komang Sri Widiartini

Komang (19) was born in Pakisan, Buleleng on the 28th December 2000. Her father is a daily laborer with an income of around IDR1,000,000 per month, which goes towards supporting the education of Komang and her sibling. Her mother is unable to work since being diagnosed with kidney disease. Komang heard about the Bali WISE program from one of her friends who was a former Bali WISE student and was encouraged to apply. She will be far from her family while attending the program, but she says it will be worth it to gain an education that will help her provide for her family.

Selvi Ageriani

Selvi Agerani

Selvi (22) was born in Sibiru-Biru, September 25, 1997. She was the first child of two siblings. Her father had passed away when she was 16 years old. Although they sometimes struggled to pay the fees, Selvi and her siblings managed to finish school. Selvi is always motivated to learn more and always move forward. It is hoped that by joining the Bali WISE programme she will develop the skills necessary to work in tourism and become a better person.

Widiawati

Widiawati

Wati (20) was born in Tuban, July 23, 1999. Her father worked as a farmer with an income of around IDR500,000 a month. Wati is the first child of two siblings. Her sibling is still in Elementary School. An intelligent girl, Wati achieved the highest score in her school during the national exam. She always won first place in class since she was in elementary school. She hopes that by joining the Bali WISE programme she will be able to increase her knowledge and skills in hospitality. She is very grateful to be able to join the Bali wise program and she believes this opportunity will change her future and her family’s future.

Alvina Berlianti

Alvina Berlianti

Alvina (18) was born in Denpasar on July 23, 2001. Alvina wants to continue her studies, but her family cannot afford to give her an education. Her parents heard about the Bali WISE program and encouraged her to join and learn more about the tourism industry. Alvina’s parents are a supplier of Balinese souvenirs and get a non-permanent salary only once every 3 months around 2,000,000. Not able to afford a house, Alvina and her family live in boarding houses.

Natalia Mariana Bue

Natalia Mariana Bue

Known as Lia (18) she was born in Tambolaka (East Nusa Tenggara) January, 2nd 2001. Her father works as a farmer with an income of around IDR250,000 per month, and her mother is a housewife helping to take care of Lia and her 2 brothers. Lia wants to get an education, but her family cannot afford to give her one, and therefore, she decided to join the Bali WISE program so she can find a decent job and help support her family.
