Coming from Buleleng, Tejakula. Eka was born in 2000. She is the first child of two siblings. Her father is the freelance laborer and makes less than IDR 1 million each month. He earns the living by any jobs offered to him, such as mowing the grass for the neighbors’ cows, fixing the televisions and makes IDR 50 thousand a day. Her mother is not only a house wife; she sometimes has side job work to help the family. If there are neighbors who need her cleaning service, she would help to wash and iron their clothes. She does it because she knows her father earning cannot fulfill cover the living expenses as well as the study for her and her little brother.
Besides, her family used to move around in living as they did not have fixed house. But in 2015, her family received help from the Buleleng government in which they were fully funded to build a house. For this, they could finally settle in their own house. As Eka just graduated from high school, she really wants to continue the study but she realizes that her family cannot make it to her.
