Astiti is the first child in her family and has one brother who is going to high school. Her parents work as farmers with an income of IDR 1,500,000 per month (approx. USD 110). After having graduated from high school, Astiti wanted to make a living independently without always having to ask for money from her parents. So, she worked at Tridatu Busana Bali, a boutique that sells Balinese dresses. She worked there for six months with a monthly salary of IDR 1,000,000 (approx USD 76). Nevertheless, while she was working, she kept looking for scholarships because she was very eager to learn more about hospitality. Finally, she found the Bali WISE program in the internet and successfully applied. With her perseverance and strength, we are sure that Astiti will succeed in everything she is doing and we wish her all the best.
