Sisi Aulina Suhati, she was born and raised in Bogor, West Java. her father is a laborer who earns less than $100 USD per month. Her mother passed away four years ago. Sisi has five siblings and one stepbrother. After graduating from high school, she worked as a cake decorator at Domino Cake in West Java. The salary that she received was not enough to pay for her brother’s school. Her father’s health condition was not stable, so she felt responsible to take care of the family and ensure that there is always food on the table. She then began to think About getting a better job, but with the limited skills she has, it was difficult for her to find a better one. Sisi found Bali WISE through the site. She applied and joined the program in July 2017 to strengthen her culinary skills. After she completed her first semester, Sisi enrolled in a 3 month long internship in a pastry department. With the professional training that was provided by the AYANA Resort and Spa Bali, she improved her skills and self confidence. Soon after she graduated from the Bali WISE program and after she went through a screening process, interviews and tests, she was hired as a cake decorator in one of the most successful bakeries in London, earning IDR 20 million per month.
