Sexual health education for the young

Sexual health education is necessary. In Indonesia, knowledge about preventing sexual reproduction and diseases is considerably low. Bali Wise is spreading this knowledge by training the Bali Wise students to become sexual health education trainers in junior high schools in Bali.

Why is this important, especially for girls?

When girls and women have access to reproductive health services, contraception, and education, and are free from violence, they are more likely to stay at school and they will choose to have fewer children later in life. Also, they are less likely to contract an STI or have poor health, and more likely to be employed and to participate in society.

Anticipation to the pandemic

The Bali WISE girls are educated by Miss Opy, who taught them to speak in public and acquire the proper knowledge. In normal times, the educators would have gone to the schools themselves to educate the children. As this is impossible during the pandemic, now the school teachers will spread the knowledge to the school children.

To make this possible, Bali Wise is giving away books, PDF’s, and video’s about safe sex, reproductive health and early pregnancy education.
