Vina’s story is one of resilience, determination, and unwavering spirit. Hailing from Java Island, Vina faced early hardships when her father passed away from heart disease in 2011. Despite this profound loss, Vina remained cheerful, active, and humble, displaying a remarkable strength of character.
In 2015, life threw another challenge as her mother remarried, and her family’s financial situation took a downturn. Vina’s stepfather worked as a laborer while her mother battled multiple health issues, including HNP (Hernia Nukleus Pulposus), urolithiasis, and heart disease. The burden of these circumstances could have overwhelmed anyone, but Vina remained steadfast in her pursuit of a brighter future.
During her studies, she actively participated in school organizations and even served as the chairman of OSIS, showcasing her natural ability to organize and lead. However, after graduating, her family’s financial constraints hampered her dream of pursuing higher education.
Refusing to be disheartened, Vina embarked on a relentless quest for opportunities. Her tenacity led her to discover Bali WISE through social media. After successfully navigating the selection process, Vina joined the Bali WISE program, focusing on a comprehensive learning experience centered around the hospitality sector. Over three months of intensive training, Vina honed her skills, gained invaluable experience, and nurtured her aspirations for a brighter future. During the program, she also had an on-the-job training opportunity at a prestigious five-star hotel in the Nusa Dua region, a moment that filled her with immense pride and joy.
During her training, Vina embraced each day with a tireless work ethic, consistency, and making a good impression. Her dedication did not go unnoticed, and upon completing her training, Vina was offered a position as a Guest Relations Officer (GRO) at the hotel. With this opportunity, she secured her financial independence and proved to herself and other people that resilience and hard work paved the path to success.
Vina’s success story is a testament to the power of perseverance and seizing opportunities. The quote that has become Vina’s spirit in her daily, “Better to fail than never to try” and she also reminds herself that “all that greatness is not a prerequisite for starting a journey, the courage to take the first step is what truly matters”.
