The Beginning of Exciting Journey : Orientation Intake 59

On October 3rd, 2024, Bali WISE warmly welcomed 28 new students into Intake 59, marking the beginning of an exciting journey for these young women. This intake stands out from previous ones due to the diverse backgrounds of the students, with most of them coming from Java and East Nusa Tenggara— a shift from the typical Bali-dominant cohort. This diversity brings fresh perspectives and a new dynamic to the Bali WISE.

The orientation, held at both Bali WISE and the Zerowaste Centre, was designed to introduce the students to the values and goals of the program. The day kicked off with an introduction to Bali WISE, where students learned about the program’s mission to empower women through education and skills development. They were also given a detailed overview of what they could expect during their time in the program.

The Excitement of Orientation Activity at Zerowaste Centre

The orientation then transitioned into the outdoor activities at the Zerowaste Centre, providing an opportunity for the new students to engage in collaborative exercises. These activities aimed to build teamwork, communication, and leadership skills among the participants, setting the tone for their time in the program. A highlight of the orientation was the selection of Murni as the best participant of Intake 59. Her enthusiasm and active engagement during the activities set her apart, making her a role model for her peers on the orientation.

The orientation concluded with a sense of excitement and unity as the students began forming bonds and getting a taste of the collaborative, empowering environment that Bali WISE fosters. With the support of the Bali WISE team, sponsors, and partners, these 28 young women are now on a path to gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to shape their futures.
