The vast culinary world encompasses a wide range of specialized disciplines, including the intricate art of pastry making. Mastering this craft is essential for anyone wishing to build a successful career, especially when it comes to the complex techniques of Danish pastry production. To develop these vital skills, the students of Bali WISE Intake 65 gathered in the ZWC kitchen on June 11, 2026 under the guidance of Miss Dee. Everyone focused deeply on the recipes and studied diligently to learn the classic methods behind crafting authentic Danish pastries, including sweet cinnamon rolls.
Masterful Ingredient Preparation And The Art Of Dough Fermentation

As usual, Miss Dee opened the dynamic class with a brief explanation of the recipe for the day. This session focused on crafting traditional cinnamon rolls, which represent a historic style of Danish pastry requiring a highly complex preparation process. Every student listened with intense concentration to catch every crucial detail before starting the hands-on work.
Working efficiently in their assigned groups, the students began by washing their hands to maintain strict kitchen hygiene before measuring and weighing each component. They learned to identify the specific purpose of every single ingredient alongside its exact required weight.
Next, they began mixing the liquid elements, including eggs, milk, and melted butter, before incorporating the active yeast. Once these components combined perfectly, they gradually added the all-purpose flour. Some teams utilized heavy stand mixers while others operated hand mixers or kneaded the dough by hand under the close supervision of Miss Dee. After achieving a perfectly smooth texture, they set the dough aside to begin the essential first rising process.
Spreading The Sweet Flavors And Baking The Perfect Batch

While waiting patiently for the dough to complete its first rise, the students remained productive by mixing brown sugar, cinnamon powder, and rich butter to create the sweet filling. At the same time, other team members prepared the smooth glaze by blending cream cheese, vanilla extract, sugar, butter, and fresh grated lemon zest before placing the mixture into the chiller to firm up.
Once the dough expanded beautifully, the young women moved to the next step under the close supervision of Miss Dee to learn how to flatten it properly using a rolling pin. After achieving the exact desired thickness, they took turns evenly spreading the fragrant cinnamon filling across the surface. They then progressed seamlessly to the intricate rolling and cutting stages, which Miss Dee demonstrated directly so the students could copy her professional movements perfectly. After transferring the precisely sliced portions onto clean baking sheets, they set everything aside for the critical second rising stage.
The final baking process commenced immediately after the second rise concluded. The beautiful pastries entered the hot oven to bake for the required amount of time. With the expert assistance of Miss Dee the class completed the final steps after several dozen minutes by pulling the hot rolls from the oven and applying the chilled glaze to finish the very first successful batch of cinnamon rolls for Intake 65.
Cultivating Patience And Craftsmanship Through The Art Of Pastry Production

The cinnamon roll class ended with the students smiling with satisfaction as they looked proudly at their very first handmade cinnamon rolls. Throughout the day, they had successfully navigated every single step of the professional baking process from studying the raw recipe and measuring out exact ingredients to managing the initial dough fermentation, preparing the decadent toppings, shaping the pastries, and mastering the final bake.
The students approached each step with a beautiful blend of patience and perseverance, which helped them realize that specialized pastries require a long and complex journey to achieve an exceptional final result. They discovered that the stunning presentation, exquisite taste, and rich aroma of a pastry directly reflect the care and time invested in its creation. Ultimately, this immersive session taught them far more than just the technical mechanics of baking Danish pastries because it provided a profound life lesson about the power of patience in navigating a complex process to achieve a truly rewarding outcome. The unforgettable day concluded beautifully as the kitchen filled with the warm, fragrant aroma and the rich savory-sweet flavor of the cinnamon rolls they proudly crafted with their own hands.
