Cristin, a young and determined woman from a humble background, transformed her life through unwavering motivation, resilience, and a commitment to continuous learning. Growing up is challenging due to her family’s financial situation. To help support her family, she assisted her mother in selling ready-made food after school to make ends meet.
Despite financial hardship blocking her way to pursue higher education after high school, Cristin’s determination to change has led her to discover Bali WISE. Her mother’s struggles became her driving force, inspiring her to seek a brighter future for her family.
Active and communicative, Cristin is one of the excellent students during the program. She secured a training opportunity in the Housekeeping Department at one of our partner hotels. Post-graduation, she landed a role as a Recreation Daily Worker in a prestigious hotel in Nusa Dua, marking the beginning of her professional journey.
The COVID-19 pandemic brought unexpected challenges as Cristin faced a layoff from her hotel job. Undeterred, she utilized the downtime to enroll in a course focused on SPA Therapy. Three months of intense training later, she jumped at an incredible opportunity to work overseas as a SPA Therapist.
From her initial placement in Turkey, Cristin’s journey led her to a five-star hotel in Qatar (Doha), with Dubai awaiting her next month. Her story is a testament to her perseverance, resilience, and continuous pursuit of personal and professional development.
In reflecting on her journey, Cristin imparts a message to aspiring young women in Indonesia: “No matter the struggles you face now, keep moving forward, learn, and try everything until you discover your passion. Your hard work will pay off if you strive to be the best version of yourself.”
