A walk around the hotel

On 8th March 2023, Bali WISE intake 52 students had the opportunity to go on a field trip to a five stars hotel in Nusa Dua, which is Courtyard by Marriott Hotel. It was an enriching experience that provided them with valuable insights into the hospitality industry and the operations of a hotel. Basically, Bali WISE students’ interest is in hospitality. Thus, by conducting this field trip, they were all eager to learn more about the operations of a hotel, from marketing and management to guest services and environmental practices.

Upon arrival at the hotel, the students were greeted by the staff, who had prepared a detailed tour of the hotel’s facilities. Firstly, the students were given a detailed presentation regarding the hotel facilities as on 8th March was also a celebration of International Women Day, the students also got motivation from Ms. Tita as a manager of the human resource department regarding women’s empowerment as well as inviting the students to raise the awareness of gender equality. Furthermore, The tour is begun and led by one staff to go around the hotel facilities in Courtyard by Marriott.

After the tour, the students had the opportunity to speak with hotel staff members and ask questions about their roles and responsibilities. They learned about the different career paths available in the hospitality industry and the skills required to succeed in these roles.

Overall, the field trip was a great success. The students gained valuable insights into the hospitality industry and saw first-hand the real-world application of the concepts they were studying in class. It was an experience that will undoubtedly help them in their future careers, whether in hospitality or other business-related fields.

The hotel staff also benefited from the experience, as they were able to showcase their operations and share their knowledge with the students. It was a win-win situation for everyone involved, and Bali WISE hopes to see more opportunities like this in the future.
