To truly understand the mechanics of the hospitality industry, learning directly from a venue that exemplifies world class service is essential. This hands on exposure is vital for fostering a genuine sense of hospitality among aspiring professionals. To cultivate this exact mindset, Bali WISE organized an immersive field trip to Le Méridien Jimbaran for Intake 66 students. The day was packed with valuable insights, inspiring moments, and high enthusiasm from start to finish.
Unveiling Brand History and Core Hospitality Pillars

On Thursday, September 27, 2026, Intake 66 students and two staff chaperones set off for Le Méridien Jimbaran to study premium hotel operations and unique service experiences. Upon arrival, the group received a warm greeting at the entrance and was guided straight to the hotel’s Bale Banjar, where they met Kak Kiky from the Human Resources team.
The session opened with a look into the history of Marriott International, the parent company of Le Méridien. Students learned about the origins of Marriott and its evolution into a global portfolio of distinct brand tiers. Kak Kiky then introduced the history of Le Méridien itself, which uniquely originated from the French airline Air France.
Students explored the three core pillars that define the Le Méridien experience: Chic, Cultured, and Discovery. The team also highlighted Marriott’s 5 Core Values that drive daily operations: Put People First, Pursue Excellence, Embrace Change, Act with Integrity, and Serve Our World.
After an overview of each hotel department and its specific functions, the host introduced signature seasonal brand programs like Au Soleil and Avec Amour. The presentation wrapped up with a lively question and answer session where curious Bali WISE students asked thoughtful questions, followed by a relaxing fifteen minute refreshment break.
Exploring Hotel Operations and Experiencing Real World Excellence

Following the refreshment break, the students split into three groups to begin a guided hotel tour. Friendly staff members led each group through various property areas, explaining the operational details and design concepts behind each space.
After exploring the property, everyone reassembled at the Bale Banjar for an energetic trivia game based on the day’s lessons. This interactive closing tied the entire experience together. By observing professional operations firsthand, seeing how unique brand concepts come to life, and learning the foundational values of guest satisfaction, Intake 66 gained a deeper understanding of what it takes to excel in premium hospitality.
