First aid training is a crucial competency that everyone should possess. Beyond the ability to assist oneself and others, these skills are vital in any professional setting, particularly within the hospitality industry. Having first aid expertise enhances the professionalism of hospitality workers, enabling them to respond swiftly when initial medical assistance is required. Recognizing this importance, Bali WISE collaborated with First Medic to conduct a First Aid Training Workshop for 30 students from Intake 66. Every student participated with immense enthusiasm and energy.

Observe, Identify, and Manage Emergency Medical Symptoms

Students from Intake 66 gathered in a circle inside the classroom, leaving space in the center for two certified medical instructors from First Medic. The session began with introductions, after which the students attentively listened to the foundational material.

Moving into the core topics, the students learned how to identify medical emergencies, understand various types of conditions, recognize symptoms, and apply initial treatment theories. The discussion covered sudden cardiac arrest, choking, respiratory failure, and unexpected physical injuries.

The interactive segment followed, where students put theory into practice. Working in pairs, every student practiced techniques to relieve choking, taking into account the age and condition of the victim. For cardiac and respiratory emergencies, they practiced manual CPR using specialized training mannequins and were also introduced to automatic CPR devices. This hands-on session was both engaging and highly informative for the entire group.

Essential Skills for Professional Excellence

The workshop concluded with an interactive question and answer session. Students eagerly raised scenario based questions about medical emergencies and listened carefully to the instructors’ detailed advice.

Bali WISE regularly hosts this training for every intake to instill vital life saving skills in our students. In the dynamic world of hospitality, medical emergencies can arise at any moment. Equipped with this critical knowledge, our graduates are well prepared to assist guests, ensure workplace safety, and respond with poise and competence in any professional setting.
