The Bali WISE Recruitment Team went on a socialization trip to South Sulawesi on Sunday, November 20th, 2022. This is our fifth trip this year to publicize the Bali WISE scholarship program. We begin our journey from Ngurah Rai International Airport to Ujung Pandang, Makassar at 7 a.m. and arrive in Makassar at 08:30 a.m. In Makassar, we met with Bapak Ahmadi Abbas, who will assist us with socialization in South Sulawesi, particularly in the Luwu Regency. We continued our journey from Makassar to Luwu Regency, the first location where we will socialize the Bali WISE program.
We are going around to socialize the program, beginning with the school in Luwu Regency, then moving on to North Luwu, Enrekang, Pangkep (Pangkajene and Island), and finally Jeneponto Regency.
In general, the Sulawesi region presented difficulties for the Bali WISE team. Every day, We discovered something new about this place. We must adapt to the community that does not have the fluency to speak Bahasa properly, about their infrastructure; in some areas, the road condition is not in good condition, many cavities are hazardous to road users, lack of street lights, hotel/accommodation that is not always available in each regency, and in some areas,
there are many landslides, disconnected roads, or bridges that we could not have predicted
previously. Overall, our visit went well, and it was an unforgettable trip for us; we hope that all of the work we put in to give them this opportunity will be beneficial to them in the future.
