CV Writing and Presentation With Ms. Komang

January 28, 2019 By //  by roledmin Leave a Comment

Living in this new era of technology, we can’t afford to not make our student tech-savvy as well. Computer skills are a very important aspect for their career. Today class with Ms. Komang, Intake 39 student are learning how to write a CV and made a presentation on PowerPoint. With these skills, our student learned how and what to put in a CV while also trained their presentation skills. Presentation, in particular, is a great addition for their skill tree, not many schools in Indonesia provide presentation skills, especially in the financially challenged area.

Staff Training

April 9, 2018 By //  by roledmin Leave a Comment

Saturday, 24th March 2018

On Saturday, 24th March 2018, the Bali WISE and ROLE Foundation staff joined the Staff Training with the topic Time Management and Team Building. Our speaker was Bu Devina, HR Manager of Destination Asia. After explaining the topic theoretically, Bu Devina gave an example test about how to manage a task at work based on its urgency.

Concerning team building, she stressed the importance of communication. Good communication means it exists in all areas: between the whole staff and the management as well as between all departments of a company. To support the message, Bu Devina introduced the game Chinese Whispers to everyone. It was a fun activity that showed how important clear and direct communication is to avoid misunderstandings.

Everyone enjoyed the whole training and left the session with a better feeling for time management, better communication skills and as a better team player.

Good job guys!

March 23, 2018 By //  by roledmin Leave a Comment

Week 11 | Term 1, every Friday in March 2018 | Bali WISE Skills Education

Hi Peeps!!!

The Bali WISE students are not only learning about hospitality-related topics but are also introduced to other subjects that help them to enhance themselves. Every Friday, they had the weekly workshop assisted by one of our volunteers, Lisa Bowen. This week, the students learned about self-confidence. They were taught ways of loving and appreciating themselves to boost their self-confidence. This workshop was really useful for the Bali WISE students, as it helped them to prepare their mentality before experiencing the challenges and pressures of real work atmosphere and being a good competitor in it.

Intake 35 Meditation Session

March 23, 2018 By //  by roledmin Leave a Comment

Weekly Workshop – Intake 35 – Mindfulness Session

On Thursday, March 14th, Bali WISE had a special volunteer – Ms. Mandy – who led the weekly workshop. This time, the students got the chance to experience a Mindfulness Session. During the first hour, they practiced peaceful meditation to relieve the stress. It also included directing their attention to breathtaking: Ms. Mandy asked the girls to close their eyes and count their breath for a few minutes. They also did some Yoga while listening to calming music to restore the balance between yin and yang in them.

During the following final 30-minutes-session, an innovative approach was introduced: meditation through coloring. The students practiced the mindful coloring exercise by coloring a Mandala of Compassion using any colors they liked. Next, they were asked to trace the outline of their own hand print and to write down the five core values they think describe best who they really are. The workshop ended with Ms. Mandy asking each student to tell everyone about their chosen values leading to a deep understanding.

All in all, our students enjoyed this meditation process. It was the first time for them to relieve the stress through coloring and playing with their imagination. Eventually, everyone felt well prepared for the upcoming exam with a calm & peaceful mind.
