In September 2024, the PELITA Project for students of intake 57 was successfully implemented. Three main projects were conducted, focusing on the distribution of basic food supplies to the local community and the donation of essential goods to YPAC Bali and Hati Mama Orphanage. All activities took place in the South Kuta area, with the primary goal of helping those in need and providing valuable experiences for the Bali WISE students. Below are the details of the three projects:

Food Distribution to The Community
On September 15th 2024, the PELITA Project carried out a food distribution system in the Jimbaran-Nusa Dua area, South Kuta. Ten students from Intake 57, along with several alumni from Intake 55 and one mentor, participated in this activity. The project focused on providing food assistance to the local community in need, demonstrating the students’ commitment to supporting local welfare.

The primary objective of this project was to provide immediate relief to those in need by distributing of ‘nasi bungkus’ (packed rice meals). Students driven by a sense of community and compassion, took the lead in organizing and implementing the project. Similar to previous initiatives, the cooking process involved a collective effort, emphasizing teamwork and collaboration. The project aimed to reach those facing economic challenges and food insecurity, thereby making a meaningful impact on their lives.

Donation of Basic Supplies and Visit to YPAC Bali
Ten students from Intake 57, accompanied by one mentor and several alumni from intake 56, conducted a visit and distributed donations of basic supplies to the Bali Foundation for Disabled Children (YPAC Bali) on September 18th 2024. This activity was fully organized by the Intake 57 students, from fundraising to the distribution of donations. Funds for purchasing the supplies were collected through open donations, promoted via social media. The students created flyers to share information about the event and invite donations. The collected funds were used to purchase essential items such as rice, cooking oil, and other necessities.

In addition to the donation, the students held a sharing session and warmly greeted the children at YPAC. Through this activity, the students gained new insights into the importance of sharing, which is expected to motivate them to continue similar projects in the future.

Donation of Supplies and Visit to Hati Mama Orphanage
On September 21st 2024, ten students from Intake 57, along with one mentor, visited Hati Mama Orphanage, located in Jimbaran, South Kuta. The orphanage houses 13 children between the ages of 6 and 18. Fundraising was carried out through open donations shared via flyers on social media. The funds raised were used to purchase essential items for the children at the orphanage, including UHT milk, medicines, fruits, stationery, and snacks.

The visit also included activities such as storytelling and playing with the children. The children at the orphanage were very active and warmly welcomed the Bali WISE students. The interaction between both parties was positive, contributing to the successful implementation of the project.
