Handling medical emergencies is a skill everyone should possess. After all, we never know when or where an emergency might occur. This is especially true in the hospitality industry, where guest safety and well-being are top priorities. Therefore, in collaboration with First Medic, Bali WISE held a First Aid Training Workshop on Friday, May 22, 2026. All 31 students from Intake 65 participated in the event with outstanding dedication and earnestness.

Recognising the Types of Medical Emergencies

The session with First Medic began with a comprehensive introduction to various medical emergencies, ranging from respiratory and consciousness issues to physical injuries and bleeding. Through these lessons, the students learned that they can serve as a vital bridge between a patient and medical professionals. With proper, immediate care, they can help individuals navigate critical moments and ultimately save lives. Gaining this expertise is essential for their future careers in the hospitality industry, a field that demands a high level of alertness, readiness, and dedication.

Putting First Aid Skills into Hands-On Practice

The Bali WISE students were also taught hands-on techniques for handling critical medical emergencies, such as choking, respiratory failure, and cardiac arrest. Using professional training aids, each student took turns demonstrating the full, step-by-step CPR process. Working closely with their respective partners, they also mastered the proper techniques for handling choking incidents. This hands-on experience provided invaluable, practical insight into emergency response, equipping them with a vital life-saving skill that will be immensely useful in their future hospitality careers.

Empowering Future Hospitality Leaders with Essential Life Skills

This workshop marks another successful step in Bali WISE’s mission to provide a holistic education for our students. By equipping Intake 65 with these vital first aid skills, we are not only preparing them to excel in the competitive hospitality industry but also empowering them to be confident, responsible individuals who can protect their communities. We extend our deepest gratitude to First Medic for sharing their invaluable expertise and helping our students build the confidence to handle any situation with grace and readiness.
