On Monday, 24th October 2022 Bali WISE had a guest teacher from In Da Surf for the Job Preparation class for Vocational Training students. The topic being discussed was job interviews.
Job Preparation for Vocational Training
Students in the Bali WISE program receive more than just on-the-job training at hotels and restaurants during the second three months of the program. Every week, particularly on Mondays, they are also required to join job preparation classes. In this class, it is obligatory to learn about creating a resume, writing a cover letter, job interview preparation, sending a job application, and finding employment.
A session with Hugo from In Da Surf
The goal of Bali WISE is to expose vocational training students to job preparation before they encounter the real working world. As part of this effort, the students are exposed to native English speakers as well. As a result, the session with Hugo from In Da Surf was a great match. She taught Bali WISE students the topic of successful job interviews, preparing job interviews, and the tools that can be used to succeed in job interviews.
The 1,5-hour class was brought in question-answer and sharing sessions. The students were excited about the topic being discussed and showed their curiosity by asking some questions. At the end of the session, students gave some feedback on how the class was. They said that the session was very beneficial and interesting, especially the discussion about responsibility in an interview. It was such a pleasure to have Hugo with Bali WISE and we are looking forward to the next class.
