Fun Tuesday – Bali WISE Night Class

January 24, 2018 By //  by roledmin Leave a Comment

On Tuesday, 23rd January 2018, our Basic students got their 3rd night class with Mr. Mike. The class started at 6.30 pm and everyone had prepared their own English workbooks. First, they learnt about greetings. Mr. Mike explained and gave them some examples of greetings in the hospitality industry, such as “Good Morning sir/madam”, “Good Afternoon”, “Good Evening”, “Welcome to Bali WISE” and others. Then, they continued to learn the polite way of offering help such as “How can I help you today sir/madam?”, “How may I assist you?”, “What can I do for you today?”, etc. After that, Mr. Mike asked them to read the conversations in their workbook out loud in the class and he corrected their pronunciation.

The second lesson was about how to deal with guest requests. Once they start working in the hospitality industry, guests will have certain requests and they need to be able to answer, so Mr. Mike gave examples of possible guest requests and how to response to that. The students really enjoyed the class because Mr. Mike taught them using fun activities. Before closing the lesson, Mr. Mike asked the students to read the conversation one by one but he pointed the student randomly, which made them nervous, because if Mr. Mike chose one of them, they had to be ready to answer straight away.

Final exam.

What comes to your mind when you hear these two words: „final exam“? Some might get a queasy feeling in their stomaches, others might remember the liberating feeling you get after final exams are over. Either way, final exams always mark milestones in your studies. They are one way to measure the students’ learning success.

Today is the first day of the final exam week for Intake 34. The first two subjects in which the students are going to be examined are Room Devision in the morning and Mentor Foundation in the afternoon. They will be going through many more examinations this week, as they have been attending classes in many different subjects in the Bali WISE program.

We wish you success for the upcoming exams! Keep on going and don’t give up!
