Bali WISE conducted a barista workshop at Rumah Kopi Jan Guno, the next-door coffee shop to Bali WISE. The three-hour workshop ran smoothly with the knowledge sharing and practical session.

Bali WISE’s Food and Beverage Service Workshops

This workshop aims to provide knowledge and practical sessions on coffee and how to operate a coffee machine. The first one-hour session is material delivery by Mr. Odit, the owner of Jan Guno. He explained the types of coffee, characteristics of coffee, and different kinds of black coffee and milk mix. In addition, he also elaborated on the quality and grade of Indonesian coffee and how Indonesian coffee is highly valued abroad. He said that human resource quality and sustainability need to be maintained to result in a good coffee grade.

The Hands-On Workshop Like a True Barista

The Hospitality and Life Skill Training Students were given the opportunity to do practice using a coffee machine milk steamer. Each of them got their turn in making coffee latte and tasted the coffee that they made themselves.

Through this workshop, Bali WISE believes that the students will have added value in the training industry once they are placed at the education partner for the internship program.
